Run No 129 is from Hawick on Thursday 5th January

The next Borders Area Hash House Harriers run will be at 7pm on Thursday 5th Jan. It’s from Hawick Golf Club – we were up there recently for a run, and it’s should be a brilliant place for a hash run.

Meet in the Hawick Golf Cub car park at 7pm Bring a torch as it will be dark and a change of footwear as it is likely to be muddy.  On Inn at the Bourtree (Wetherspoons). The hare is Anne ‘Heavenly Body’.

Directions

From the North – follow the A7 (stay on it – Commercial Road - past Sainsbury’s rather than going through the town centre). The road bends to the left and goes over the river, then comes to a small roundabout. Take the first exit. Very soon after, 30m or so, turn right onto Howegate (a one-way street) – keep following this, and it’s extensions uphill – you’ll arrive at the Golf Club after c.

From the South – A7 turn right up the hill after the first roundabout as you enter the centre of the town – then follow instructions above.

Cheers

Hope to see you there with your Sandra Hats 🎅

The hare is ‘Alpha Female’ Katrona, and the On Inn for food and beers after the run will be ‘Buddies’ (the new-ish American Diner place on High Street, almost opposite Wetherspoons).

It’s midway between Halloween and Bonfire Night, so take your pick on pumpkins/spooky/scary stuff, or sparklers J. Either way, a torch will be handy!.

Hope to see you there.

Run No 123 is from Bowmont Forest near Kelso on Thursday 7th July

Below are the details of the next Borders Area Hash House Harriers Run (BAH3).

The next Borders Area Hash House Harriers will be a new venue for us (we think) – Bowmont Forest near Kelso. It will start at 7pm on Thursday 7th July.

Grid Reference (if you do that kind of thing) for the car park is NT 732285.

Let’s assume you’re coming from Kelso… pick up the Kelso by-pass (A698 around the south of the town), heading towards Jedburgh. At the roundabout next to the Sainsbury’s supermarket, turn left (away from the town) on to the B6352 (probably signposted Yetholm and Morebattle). After approx. 0.5miles turn Right onto the B6346 (probably signed Morebattle). After 1.5miles turn right onto a small country road towards Bowmont. After 1.2 miles turn Left onto a small road past Bowmont Sawmill (I think there’s a ‘Car Park’ sign here), and follow the small road up the hill next to the forest. Car Park is on the left at the top.

Hares are Diane and Gillian.

On Inn for food + grub afterwards will be the Cross Keys in Ancrum – apparently it’s back doing pub grub rather than “weird stuff” (which I think means anything other than macaroni cheese in Diane’s world!).

Hope to see you there.

Cheers

Run No 120 is from Newton St Boswells on Thursday 7th April

Hi Everybody

Borders Hash House Harriers reaches an exciting (and frankly improbable!) milestone on our next run – our 10thbirthday. Yee-hah!!!

We’re having a slightly special run as a result, and would be great to see loads of people there. Please extend the invite to other H3’s, friends, ex-hashers, and new-hashers.

The run will be on Thursday 7th April, starting at 7pm from Tweed Horizons, near Newton St. Boswells (just off the A68) – map here: https://www.yell.com/biz/tweed-horizons-centre-melrose-6657870/#view=map

Hares are Alistair (aka ‘Hash Drunk’) and Julie (aka ‘Pick Me Up’). As usual, the ‘run’ is very mixed ability – everything from walkie-talkie to run-like-an-idiot, and should all be over and done with for everyone inside an hour.

On Inn afterwards is at my slightly less than salubrious warehouse/office on the Charlesfield Industrial Estate, near St. Boswells. We’re have a BBQ, beers, and perhaps some other stuff (might set up my roller racing kit!).

Look forward to seeing you all there.

Cheers
